About Clairice

Clairice Pearce is a Chicago-based artist who has had an affinity for the arts since childhood. Her desire to create and to explore how the mind and body coalesce propelled her into violin performance and neuroscience studies at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. She now approaches art with these same motivations. Drawing from her artistic and scientific endeavors, she seeks to develop work that explores deeper human meaning and captures her audience’s attention through contrast in emotion, light, and shadow.

“My work is rooted in the belief that art is not only a form of expression but also a bridge. It connects individuals through shared purpose, emotion, and vision. I create with the intent to nurture this connection:  to cultivate spaces where dialogue and empathy can emerge. Each piece is an invitation to engage, to recognize our intertwined stories, and to find resonance in collective experience.

In a world often divided by difference, my art seeks to reveal the threads of humanity that bind us together. My art is a dichotomy: it reflects shared essence and shows my viewers new ways of looking at the world. My process emphasizes relationship over product. We listen, we respond, and we co-create with others to give form to ideas that reflect our mutual hopes and challenges.

Ultimately, my practice is an exploration of art’s capacity to serve a greater purpose: to provoke feeling, to inspire action, to nurture understanding, and to remind us that creativity is a shared force for connection and change.”
